13.2. PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE
Besides the preventive maintenance done by the laser system’s owners, a thorough review of the coder
by HITACHI technicians must be done periodically.
The points to be checked are the following:

Electronic control (every year)
•
Laser tube cleaning (every two years)
Remove external laser system cover and clean the surfaces removing all accumulated dust.
•
Clean the laser tube optics (every two years)
All the surfaces of the laser tube optics must be cleaned.
•
Adjust the laser tube optics (every two years)
CAUTION
Only authorized personnel should do system maintenance. The procedures outlined do not present
any laser emission hazard. The procedures must be followed carefully; failure to do so could lead to
laser emissions or seriously damage the laser system

The following operations must be carried out with the laser system isolated from the main electricity
supply
