6. Electrical and mechanical safety
6.1 Electrical safety
The ground fault interrupter incorporated in jobsite mains supply circuits pro-
vides protection from faults in the insulation of the motor unit, supply cord
and extension cables. The machine’s earth / ground conductor protects the
operator in case of accidentally drilling into live cables. The built-in undervol-
tage trip prevents the machine from restarting of its own accord when power
returns after an interruption in the power supply.
6.2 Protection against overheating
The motor is protected from the effects of sustained overload by a tempera-
ture sensor built into the motor windings. A warning lamp incorporated in the
ON/OFF switch indicates when activation of this safety circuit is imminent.
6.3 Mechanical safety
The slip clutch incorporated in the gearing section protects the insert tool
and motor unit from damage in case the core bit suddenly sticks.
