2 Safety
2.1 General
Note
The user manual, the accompanying texts and the documentation are writ-
ten for the use of the products by educated personnel. When using the
products, all safety instructions and all valid legal regulations have to be
obeyed. Technical knowledge is presumed. The user has to assure that all
legal regulations are obeyed.
2.2 Intended
Use

are devices for communication and connect two communication networks.
The NT 50 devices work as a gateway between these two networks.
The NT 50 devices are in a compact housing and suitable for DIN rail
mounting according to DIN EN 60715.
The devices should be operated only in an environment appropriate to the
technical data.
2.3 Personnel
Qualification
The netTAP NT 50 Gateway must only be installed, configured and re-
moved by qualified personnel. Job-specific technical skills for people pro-
fessionally working with electricity must be present concerning the following
topics:

Safety and health at work
•
Mounting and attaching of electrical equipment
•
Measurement and Analysis of electrical functions and systems
•
Evaluation of the safety of electrical systems and equipment
•
Installing and Configuring IT
