Procedure

1. Determine the status of the drive from the Hot-plug drive LED definitions.

CAUTION: Do not remove a drive with the Do Not Remove LED illuminated.

2. Back up all compute module data.

3. Open the drive drawer by pressing the drive drawer release latch and pull out the drawer with the driver drawer release

handle.

IMPORTANT: The storage module must be closed within five minutes. The drawer status LED blinks amber any time
the drawer is open for longer than five minutes. To clear this condition, close the drawer for at least one minute to
allow time for the drives to cool off.

4. Install a replacement/new drive.

IMPORTANT: For the new drive to appear in HPE OneView, the compute module must be powered on for drive bays
that are assigned to the logical JBOD.

5. Close the drive drawer.
