Ensure that the pressure washer is in a stable position
during use. Do not walk too far with the high-pressure
hose or pull the pressure washer by the hose to prevent
it from falling over.
y
If the pressure washer is running, do not leave it
unattended.
y
Spraying pressurised water may result in kickback and
the item being cleaned may be toppled or it may fall
down. For this reason, always maintain a firm stance and
hold the gun firmly by the grip and the wand to counter
the effects of kickback. If appropriate, secure the item
being cleaned against falling.
y
Do not bend the hoses or drive a vehicle over them, pro-
tect them against bending and the subsequent reduced
flow rate, against sharp edges, e.g. by fitting them inside
a textile sleeve in the area of contact with sharp edges.
Protect the power cord and the pressure hose against
sources of radiant heat.
y
Do not clean materials containing asbestos or other
health damaging compounds. Pressurised water brings
these compounds into the air and they are dangerous to
health. Asbestos is a carcinogen.
y
When cleaning car tyres, maintain a minimum distance
of 40 cm, otherwise the tyres and their air valves could
be damaged. Damaged tyres and air valves are life
threatening.
y
In the event that the cleaning detergent is ingested or
gets in one's eyes, follow the instructions provided on
the packaging of the cleaning detergent and immedi-
ately seek medical advice. Likewise, we recommend an
immediate consultation with the Emergency informati-
on service of the Toxicological centre.
y
Never modify the pressure washer for any uses other
than those for which it is intended and, likewise, do not
change and modify the factory settings.
y
Transport the pressure washer only after releasing the
pressure and draining the water and securing it, see
chapter Storage.
y
For hygiene reasons, do not use the pressure washer
during the night-time calm period between 10:00 p.m.
and 6:00 a.m. (noise emissions).
VIII. Maintenance
and Repair
1. Before commencing maintenance tasks, turn off
the engine and position the pressure washer on
a rigid horizontal surface.
2. Allow the pressure washer to cool down before
performing maintenance (servicing) tasks.
•
ATTENTION
y
Only original spare parts of the manufacturer
may be used for repairs of the pressure washer.
Regular inspections, maintenance, checks, audits and
adjustments in regular intervals are an essential pre-
requisite for ensuring safety and for achieving high
performance of the pressure washer. Table 2 provides
the plan of tasks that must be performed in regular
intervals by the operator themselves and that may only
be performed by an authorised service centre for the
Heron® brand.
