THROTTLE OPERATION
Cable inspection
Check for smooth rotation of the throttle grip
from the fully open to the fully closed position.
Check at full left and full right steering
positions. Inspect the condition of the throttle
cable from the throttle grip down to the
carburetor. If the cable is kinked, chafed or
improperly routed, it should be replaced or
rerouted. Standard throttle grip free play (1)
is approximately 2- 6 mm of grip rotation.
(1) Free play 2-6 mm
Free Play Adjustment
Slide the boot (2), loosen the lock nut (3) and
turn the adjuster (4).

VALVE CLEARANCE
Excessive valve clearance will cause noise, and
little or no clearance will prevent the valve
from closing and cause valve damage and
power loss. Check valve clearance at the
specified intervals

NOTE
Always ensure to reinstall the drain tube plug
after draining the deposit.
Follow the above process more frequently
when riding in rain or at full throttle.
