4. App
The motor is controlled from a Bluetooth connected
smartphone app called ‘Keyde’. From the app, you set
the various motor parameters and preferences, view
the motor’s running status, set the power assist level
and monitor the battery charge status.
To download the app to your smartphone please scan
the QR code that fits your smartphone type or go to
your app store and download the app.
Regularly check for app updates in your app store and
update the app accordingly.
Installing the app
The app can only connect with the motor when the
motor is turned on. To set up the app you must:
• Mount a charged battery on the e-bike and
connect the power cable from the motor to the
battery.
• Stand beside the e-bike and lift the rear wheel a
few centimetres from the ground and give the rear
wheel a short spin to activate the motor.
• Open the app and hold you smartphone close to
the rear hub motor.
• Allow Bluetooth access when asked. Do not use
your Smartphone Bluetooth setting to connect.
• Tap ’Search’ and wait for the app to register the
motor.
• When the Bluetooth symbol in the upper left
corner turns from red to blue, the app and motor
are paired.
• If the Bluetooth symbol has not turned blue after
a 5-10 seconds exit and close the app and open it
again. The app and motor should now connect.
Setting up the app
When connecting the app with the bike for the first
time, you need to set up a number of parameters
and preferences in the app to correctly control and
monitor the motor when riding your e-bike.
Tap the gears symbol in the upper right corner of the
app’s main screen to get to the settings menu and
then set the following parameters and preferences:
• Wheel size: 20” (this is your e-bike wheel size).
• Voltage: 33V (this is the voltage of the battery
delivered with your e-bike).
• Maximum speed: This is the maximum speed level
you want the motor to assist you to. The motor
will automatically cut off at the set speed level.
You can set this preference as you desire but pay
attention to the allowed maximum driving speed
of e-bikes according to local laws and regulations.
• Maximum power: The higher you set the watt,
the stronger the support and acceleration power
but also the higher battery consumption. The
percentage of maximum power assist indicated for
each of the motor’s power assist levels Eco, Tour
and Sport apply to the preference you set here.
• Speed unit: Choose between having your speed
displayed as km/h or Mph.
• Bright display: When this setting is turned on, the
open app stays bright on your smartphone screen
and overrules you general screen lock timer.
• Drive mode on right side: When on, the location of
the power assist modes Eco, Tour and Sport shift
from the left to the right side of the app’s main
screen interface.
