Field of application
TEDS stands for ”Transducer Electronic Data Sheet”.
Stored in this module’s memory is an electronic data sheet which enables the
measuring amplifier to be set up automatically. A suitably equipped amplifier
imports the transducer characteristics (electronic data sheet), translates them
into its own settings and measurement can then start.
A special circuit (patent applied for) makes it possible to use the existing cable
leads for transferring the TEDS data. This means that the same cables can be
used as for transducers that do not have TEDS.
This is done by switching between a measurement mode (the line transfers
the analog measurement signal) and a data mode (the line transfers the
digital TEDS data).
