Design and function
5. Before commissioning
Ensure that hydraulic tools are always used, inspect-
ed and maintained in compliance with the respective
local, state, national or federal regulations.
• Before installation and use of the pump, it must be
ensured that it has not been damaged e.g. during
transport, that the pump housing has no dents or
cracks and that no oil is leaking from the pump.
• The pump must not be used if is damaged or is
leaking oil.
Open the filler and bleed screw (Fig. 1),
located on top of the tank cover; check
the oil level (min. 4 cm above the base
of the tank) and top up if required before
use.
Check the oil level before use, and top up
if required.
• Never operate the pump without a work unit!
• Always completely unroll hydraulic and pneu-
matic hoses. Connect the coupling of the hy-
draulic hose onto the connection nipple of
the HAZET hollow piston cylinder 4932-17.
6. Commissioning
• To operate the pump, press the area indicated by
the inscription "PUMP" gently with the foot (Fig. 2).
The pump starts to generate a hydraulic pressure,
whereupon the hollow piston cylinder is operated.
• When the pedal is released, i.e. when the foot
is removed, the pump stops but remains under
pressure and the hollow piston cylinder stops at
the point it has reached.
• To release the pressure, press the pedal at the point
indicated by the inscription "RELEASE" (Fig. 3).
Bleeding the pump
The pump has already been bled at the factory. How-
ever, if there is air in the pump proceed as follows:
• Open the bleed / filler cover (Fig. 4).
• Check the oil level (min. 4 cm above the base of
the tank)
• Connect the cylinder, then compress and retract
it several times (compress it by pressing down the
foot pedal at the pressure valve side and retract it
by pressing down the foot pedal at the outlet valve
side).
• If no cylinder is connected, operate the pump sev-
eral times for approx. 30 seconds at the pressure
valve side and then at the outlet valve side. Until
pressure is generated in the tool.
• The pump should now operate correctly, otherwise
the procedure described above must be repeated.
