Handling
Once the proper test sieves have been selected, they should be stacked (one on top of the other) with the
largest opening sieve on the top of the stack. A bottom pan should be added under the smallest opening
sieve to collect “fine” material passi
ng through the last sieve. The complete test sieve stack is placed on
the sieve support plate (17) of the test sieve shaker. During its installation the hammer should be turned
aside. After the sieving material has been filled, a sieve cover with a cork piece should be placed on top
of the stack.
Adjust the sieve support plate by the sieve support clamp bar (18) in such a way that the sieve cover (16)
has top edge flush with the upper carrying plate (9). The sieve cover must keep this height to make sure
that the hammer drops from the right height to guaranty the precision of the sieve analysis.
5.
Setting the hammer lift height
The hammer has been pre-adjusted by the manufacturer. If the sieving result is not satisfying the hammer
setting should be re-adjusted. The hammer is adjusted in such a way, that it touches the cork piece in the
sieve cover (16) as shown in fig. 1.1.
NOTE:
Prior to hammer adjustment, make sure cork in sieve cover is seated
firmly. Make sure sieve cover has top edge flush with upper carrying
plate.
Warning! Before opening the machine pull out the mains plug.
STEP 1
Remove pedestal cover.
STEP 2
Jog machine until hammer rises to maximum height or use a box wrench
on the hex head screw, located on top of the pedestal. Check height
with scales.
STEP 3
Set height to 1-
5/16 ± 1/16” by loosening screw on coupling and
adjusting lift rod.
STEP 4
Tighten screw on coupling.
STEP 5
Replace pedestal cover.
