It is important that you understand the image below before getting started.
•
ROAMING AREA - Area inside the
Trigger Zone where your dog is free
to play.
•
TRIGGER ZONE - Zone located
outside the Roaming Area that forms
the Fence Boundary. May be 6 to
13 feet wide. Collar correction
anywhere in this Zone
is acceptable.
•
EXCLUSION ZONE - Target areas
on your property where you wish to
restrict your dog’s access, such as
a flower bed, pool or patio. Up to 4
Exclusion Zones can be created.
•
ATTENUATION - Various objects such as mirrors, microwaves, flat screen TVs, electric power meters,
dense trees or outbuildings can interfere with the signal strength of your Wireless Fence. The part
of the Fence Boundary that is obstructed by an object may dip inward toward the Base, resulting
in a Fence Boundary shape that is slightly different than the path you walked and will reduce the
Roaming Area. The object between the Bases and the set Fence Boundary is said to attenuate the
signal (Illustration A).

Installing the Bases:
•
The best choice to place your Bases in on windows or the inside surface of an exterior
wall of your home, near 120V AC power outlets, spaced as far apart as possible, but a
minimum of 20 feet apart. Place one Base per exterior wall. Make sure the Bases are not
connected to an outlet controlled by a light switch.
•
Look inside your home: DO NOT place Bases within 3 feet of metal objects, such as
mirrors, microwaves, flat screen TVs or home appliances. Place Bases at eye level or
higher.
