INSTALLATION
WARNING
For safe and proper operation, the unit must be
located a reasonable distance from combustible
walls and materials. If safe distances are not
maintained, discoloration or combustion could
occur.
CAUTION
To avoid any injury or damage locate the unit at
the proper counter height, in an area that is
convenient for use. The location should be level
to prevent the shelf or its contents from
accidentally falling, and strong enough to
support the weight of the unit and food.
CAUTION
The National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)
requires that GRS Series units over 36"
(914 mm) in length or weighing more than 80 lbs.
(36 kg) to be either sealed or raised on the
installation surface. If this unit cannot be sealed
at the point of use, 4" (102 mm) legs are included
to allow for proper cleaning access below unit.
See ACCESSORIES for installation instructions.
WARNING
To avoid any injury or damage to the unit do not
pull unit by power cord.
WARNING
To prevent any injury, discontinue use if power
cord is frayed or worn.

upside down on the cardboard.
2. Remove and save the four screws (8-32) from
the underside of the unit. See Figure 4.
NOTE: The control box may be moved to the most
convenient location on the underside of the unit. For
semi-remote installations, we recommend you leave
the control in place until the unit is placed into the
countertop. See Figure 7.
CAUTION
Damage to non-metallic countertop material
caused by heat generated from Hatco
equipment is not covered under the Hatco
warranty. Recommended for use in metallic
counters. For other surfaces, verify that the
material is suitable for temperature up to 180°F
(82°C).
3. Prepare countertop opening. (See Figures 5 & 6
for recommended countertop cutout
dimensions.)
4. Apply a bead of NSF (National Sanitation
Foundation) approved sealant between the
countertop material and mounting flange.
5. Place the unit into the countertop opening.
