(9) Prepare the propeller for installation (Refer to
Figures 3-14 through 3-16 ).
(a) Piston removal
1
Remove the flexlock nut with a 1-7/16 inch
wrench, if installed.
2 Remove the safety wire from the three link pin
units.
3 Remove the safety screws from the link pin
units.
4 Remove the link pin units.
5 Mark the piston and link pins with a felt tip pen
or equivalent, so the piston can be reinstalled in
the same position.
6 Slide the link arms out of the piston slots.
7 Remove the socket head cap screw, jam nut,
and washer from each piston guide rod.
8 Slide the piston off the cylinder.
(b) Spring assembly removal.
1 Remove the ring retention plate screw safety
wire.
2 Remove the ring retention plate screws.
3 Remove the retention plate.
4 Remove the split retainer.
5 Remove the spring assembly from the cylinder.
