WARNING
:
MAKE SURE THE SLING IS RATED UP TO
800 POUNDS (363 KG) TO SUPPORT THE
WEIGHT OF THE PROPELLER ASSEMBLY
DURING INSTALLATION.
CAUTION
:
WHEN INSTALLING THE PROPELLER
ON THE AIRCRAFT, DO NOT DAMAGE
THE ICE PROTECTION SYSTEM
COMPONENTS, IF APPLICABLE.
(1) With a suitable crane hoist and sling, carefully move the
propeller assembly to the aircraft engine mounting flange
in preparation for installation.
WARNING
:
CLEANING AGENT MEK IS FLAMMABLE
AND TOXIC TO THE SKIN, EYES AND
RESPIRATORY TRACT. SKIN AND EYE
PROTECTION ARE REQUIRED. AVOID
PROLONGED CONTACT. USE IN A WELL
VENTILATED AREA.
(2) Clean the engine flange and propeller flange with Quick
Dry Stoddard Solvent or MEK.
(3) Install the spinner adapter ring on the engine starter ring
gear. Refer to Figure 3-5.
CAUTION
:
FAILURE TO INSTALL THE SHIM
BETWEEN THE PROPELLER FLANGE
AND THE STARTER RING GEAR CAN
RESULT IN BOLT FAILURE.
(4) Install the shim (Table 3-1) on the engine shaft between
the starter ring gear and the propeller flange. Refer to
Figure 3-5.
(5) Lubricate the specified shaft O-ring (Table 3-1) with
engine oil and install it on the engine flange. Refer to
Figure 3-5.
