8. Description of Saving System:
A saving system is used internally with the following characteristics:
Max. daily ration
total amount of all feed types allowed to be fed
Min. save percentage
minimum amount which must be saved before feeding commences
Max. save percentage
maximum amount which can be saved
Carry over leftover feed
carry over the unfed amount to the next day
Max. carry over
percentage of the daily ration which can be carried over to the next day
A saving curve is determined for each feed type which allows the full amount of feed to be consumed 2 hours before end of
cycle. This prevents animals from receiving too much leftover feed.

Overfeeding monitoring:
To prevent an animal from eating too much in a certain period, the visit portion is monitored within a timeline.
Milking parlour:
In a 4
-
hour period, the animal will not receive more than the visit portion. The visit portion in a milking
parlour is the total amount for the milking parlour divided by the number of milking sessions.
Feeding station:
On a new visit, the animal will not receive any more feed if he has already received more than 90% of
the visit portion in the previous hour.
Please contact Hanskamp for more information on the savings system (in the milking parlour, for example).
