1. Make sure the parking brake is applied when the wheelchair is inside the vehicle.
2. Close the safety belt(s) of the taxi.
3. Install the taxi-mounting set. For the proper way of mounting to the car or taxi: see the instructions of the system concerned.
Follow any further instructions concerning wheelchair transport. In the Netherlands, these concern the Code Veilig Vervoer
Rolstoelinzittenden (VVR), which is the Dutch code for safe transport of wheelchair occupants. In this code, wheelchairs are
classified into three classes: "not transportable", "transportable", and "safely transportable" (meant to be transported with the
occupant in the chair).
The wheelchairs Antibes, Midway and Atlantic fall into the "transportable" class.
Warning!
A seat belt on a wheelchair only serves to provide support. It must not be used as a car seat belt..
3.12 Disposing of the wheelchair
If the wheelchair is to be scrapped, the current, local instructions for waste disposal must be followed.
Only generally known materials are used for the construction of the wheelchair. At the time of its construction, waste-disposal
facilities existed for these, and no special risks were known for the people carrying out the scrapping work.
Warning!
The battery unit present in the wheelchair should be regarded as chemical waste and disposed of as
such.
The batteries can be fully recycled.
