Maintenance and Troubleshooting
8.1 Preventive Maintenance
Your ProBrix Plus requires little maintenance. If the indicating instrument and sampling
module are properly connected, handled with reasonable care and kept clean, they will
give you reliable service.
The following guidelines should be used to ensure your ProBrix Plus is continually in
good working order.
8.1.1 Daily
• Ensure that the inlet and outlet valves to and from the ProBrix remain open, that
power to the system remain on (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) and that the
attached computer remains on at all times
• Ensure that the nitrogen cylinder attached to the ProBrix has at least 30 bar
pressure. A pressure gauge with an output alarm is recommended so that the
nitrogen cylinder can be replaced when the pressure falls below the 30 bar level
• If using plant nitrogen as the purge gas, verify that desiccant in the dryer does not
indicate the need for replacement. Note that humid purge gas will damage the

8.1.2 Weekly
• Inspect all hoses and connections to and from the Sampling Module for leaks or
damage. Tighten or replace components as required
• Inspect all hoses and connections inside the Sampling Module for leakage
(condensation is normal)
• Inspect the pump inside the Sampling Module for leakage (minor dripping is
normal). If excessive leakage is present, replace the seals (see
)
• Inspect inside the Indicating Instrument for moisture (should be dry)
• Wipe exterior of the ProBrix sampling module to remove syrup or other deposits
(do not use a high-pressure hose directly on the door seams or the ProBrix head)
• Drain the condensate of the model 29089 regulator and filter inside the sampling
module (see
Sensor Purge Gas Connection” on page 23
for illustration and
details). Open the bleed screw and remove any moisture, under pressure. Clean
or replace the filter if it becomes heavily contaminated (clean with water and dry
with compressed air)
8.1.3 Monthly
• If your ProBrix Plus is fitted with a sample particle filter, check this for any
blockage and clean as necessary
8.1.4 Six Monthly
• Carry out an O
