Calibrations - 3624 ProBrix Plus
Operator Manual
ORBISPHERE
5.2 Brix Calibration
The ProBrix Plus is factory calibrated for Brix, so no processes are required or available.
5.3 Diet Calibration
There are three types of diet calibration available. This is defined by the type of unit
selected for the product in the
Units
section of the Brix/Diet column of the
Products List
(see
).
5.3.1 Automatic Calibration
This is applicable to
diet-a
and
T.A.-a
product units only, and performs a
calibration based on three successive stable measurement cycles at the start of a
product run, and assumes the product is
in spec
when the run starts.
When the calibration process begins, the Brix status is set to
Calib
. After three
successive stable measurements, the Diet Calibration Coefficient (slope) is
calculated based on the target value for the product, and the status set to
Measure
. You can view the Slope value by pressing the Product button.
5.3.2 Manual Calibration
This is applicable to
diet-m
and
T.A.-m
product units only.
If the product is run from the PC, then the dialog box illustrated below appears
automatically when the product is selected.
If the product is run from the instrument, then the dialog box appears
only
if the
Always
Calib. Diet
box is checked for this line (see
“Setting a LINE Configuration” on page 44
for more details), otherwise, these products are treated the same way as diet-a and T.A.-
a products, and an automatic calibration is made (as described above).
The target measurement for the product is automatically displayed in the edit box,
as the calibration value. This can be changed based on any Lab Tests performed,
as it is used in calculating the calibration coefficient.
Select the
Default
button to reset the slope value for this product to one, or
Cancel
to
close this dialog box without modifying the current parameters.
If there is a large difference between the new coefficient
and the last calibration, a warning message will be
displayed (as illustrated left) when you press the Product
button, showing the percentage difference between the
two values.
The last five measurements are initially set to
zero and the Brix status in the LINE window
set to
Calib
.
Once the measurements displayed indicate a
stable condition (at least three successive
stable measurement cycles), press
OK
to
close the dialog box and to calculate the new
slope value for the current product, based on
the value in the edit box.
