Maintenance
DANGER
Only qualified personnel should conduct the tasks described in this section of the
manual. Service should be performed only by factory-authorized personnel.
5.1 Battery maintenance
The battery symbol indicates the relative battery charge status, described in
Table 6
. The
dark section of the battery indicates the charge that remains in the battery.
The power supply provided with the MET ONE HHPC–6 serves as a battery charger and
a direct power source. Connect the power supply for continuous and long-term sampling.
To charge the battery:
1.
Connect the external power supply as described in
section 3.3.4 on page 14
.
2.
Turn on the MET ONE HHPC–6. The battery indicator displays a
+
(single plus sign)
to indicate that the external power supply is attached.
3.
To place the MET ONE HHPC–6 into a fast charge mode, turn the MET ONE
HHPC–6 on and wait for 15 seconds. Attach the MET ONE HHPC–6 to the external
power supply.
Note:
If the MET ONE HHPC–6 is not powered up when the external power supply is attached,
it indicates that the battery is charged with a trickle charge.
5.1.1 Charge a drained battery
To charge a drained battery:
1.
Attach the external power supply to the MET ONE HHPC–6.
2.
Wait for five minutes. Turn on the MET ONE HHPC–6.
3.
If the battery indicator does not display a
++
(double plus sign) within 15 seconds,
detach the external power supply. Wait for 15 seconds and attach the external power
supply again. The battery indicator will display a
++
(double plus sign) within 15
seconds.
4.
Leave the MET ONE HHPC–6 attached to the power supply until a
+
(single plus
sign) is displayed.
5.2 Calibrate the MET ONE HHPC–6
Return the MET ONE HHPC–6 to the manufacturer annually for recalibration according to
the JIS B 9921–1997 standards. The calibration date is displayed on the manufacturer
decal on the back of the MET ONE HHPC–6.

Power supply is first connected and has not yet fully charged the unit
•
Battery charge drops below 95% capacity
