H3C SR6608/6604 Routers Installation Manual
Chapter 5 Installing the Router
5-26
Follow these steps to connect a CL1P/CL2P interface module cable:
1) Install an FIP-200 in a slot on the router. For the installation procedure, refer to
section 8.5.2 “Installing FIP-100/FIP-200” in Chapter 8 “Maintaining Hardware”.
Skip this step if an FIP-100/FIP-200 is already installed.
2) Install a CL1P/CL2P interface module to a sub-slot on the FIP-200. For the
installation, refer to section 8.9 “Installing and Removing an HIM” in Chapter 8
“Maintaining Hardware”.
3) Insert an SFP module into an SFP interface on the CL1P/CL2P interface module.
4) Identify the Rx and Tx ports on the CL1P/CL2P interface module. Plug the LC
connector at one end of one fiber cable into the Rx port of the router and the LC
connector at the other end into the Tx port of the peer device. Plug the LC
connector at one end of another fiber cable into the Tx port of the router and the
LC connector at the other end to the Rx port of the peer device.
5) Check the status of the LINK LED on the module panel after connecting the optical
fiber cables:
z
If the LED is on, a link is present.
z
If the LED is off, no link is present. In this case, the Rx and Tx port may be
connected incorrectly, and you can try to change the positions of the LC
connectors of the two fiber optical cables at one end to remove the fault.
Warning:
z
Never stare into an open SFP interface on the interface module, because invisible
rays may be emitted from the SFP interface.
z
Cover the dust cover if no optical fiber connector is connected to the SFP interface.
IV. Connecting a CLS1P/CLS2P interface module cable
A CLS1P/CLS2P interface module cable is connected in the same way as a
CL1P/CL2P interface module cable. For details, refer to III. “Connecting a CL1P/CL2P
interface module cable” on page 5-25.
V. Connecting an MSP4P interface module cable
An MSP4P interface module cable is connected in the same way as a CL1P/CL2P
interface module cable. For details, refer to III. “Connecting a CL1P/CL2P interface
module cable” on page 5-25.
