3.4 Connecting the RPS Unit to the
Powered Devices
3.4.1 Connecting the cables
Follow these steps to connect the RPS unit to a
powered device:
Step 1: Check that the power source to the RPS
unit is disconnected and the powered device is
powered off.
Step 2: Connect the supplied grounding cable to
the grounding screw on the chassis of the RPS unit,
which is located at the lower right corner of the rear
panel, as shown in Figure 2 on page 4. Check that the
powered device is well grounded.
Step 3: Plug one end of an RPS DC output power
cable into the DC input socket of the powered device
and the other end into the DC output socket of the
RPS unit. Make sure the correct DC output interface
and output cable are selected. For details, refer to
section 2.6 Output Specifications on page 10.
Step 4: Connect the power source to the RPS unit
and power on the powered device.
