2 Product Overview
2.1 Introduction
The RPS1000-A3 is an external power supply
unit that uses AC inputs and provides eight lines of DC
output, with a maximum output power of 2900 W. It
can provide DC power supply simultaneously for
multiple powered devices (such as switches and
routers). The RPS1000-A3 can serve as:

A heavy-duty external PoE power supply unit
z
A redundant backup power supply unit for the
powered devices
When serving as a redundant backup power
supply unit, the RPS1000-A3 has the following
functions:
z
If using the same AC power source with the
powered device, when the internal power
supply system of the powered device fails, the
RPS1000-A3 can provide DC supply to the
powered device, thus ensuring uninterrupted
operation of the powered device;
z
If using the different AC power source from
the powered device, when the AC power
source to the powered device fails, the
RPS1000-A3 can provide DC supply to the
powered device, thus ensuring uninterrupted
operation of the powered device.
