MIM/DMIM/XMIM

H3C MSR router series uses modular design and supports a wide range of MIMs/DMIMs/XMIMs.
These interface modules provide abundant interfaces, including synchronous/asynchronous serial
interface, Ethernet interface, E1/T1, ISDN BRI/PRI, audio interface, and Layer 2 switching interface.

Among these MIMs/DMIMs/XMIMs, Ethernet switching modules MIM-16FSWP and DMIM-24FSWP
are PoE capable. When installed on a PoE router, they can provide –48 VDC power to remote PDs
(such as IP phone, WLAN AP, and network camera) through straight-through network cables.

Introduction

Each XMIM-16FSW provides 16 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 connector interfaces, while each XMIM-24FSW
provides twenty-four 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 connector interfaces. Both XMIM-16FSW and
XMIM-24FSW are suitable for a small enterprise network to serve as a switching and routing device,
which can be directly connected to PCs and network devices of the enterprise. XMIM-16FSW and
XMIM-24FSW support the following functions:

•

A transmission distance of 100 m (328.08 ft) when connected with a category-5 twisted pair
cable (crossover or straight-through cable).

•

100 Mbps wire-speed forwarding between any ports when connected with a category-5 twisted
pair cable (crossover or straight-through cable).

•

Autosensing at a rate of 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps.

•

Full duplex and half duplex, of which full duplex is common.
