9.2 MTS Motor Replacement
CAUTION
To avoid electrical shock or
contact with moving parts,
make sure all switches are
in the "OFF" position, and
that the main power supply
is disconnected. Some
freezers have more than
one disconnect switch.
CAUTION
Pressurized system.
Depressurize before
disassembling.
1. Disassemble the Mix Transfer System
by unlocking the MTS handle and pulling
down to open the housing and gain
access to the hose cavity.
2. Remove the mix transfer hose.
3. Remove the two mounting screws
located inside the hose cavity. (See
figure 9-4)
4. Remove the MTS from the cabinet wall
by pulling straight out with a rocking
action.
Important
Make sure wavy washer is removed from
motor shaft in cabinet wall.

5. Remove side and rear panels. Locate
the mounting plate for the MTS
gearmotor and remove the 4 bolts
holding the motor. Remove the bolt
on the rear motor support bracket
where it is connected to the 4" x 4"
(10 cm x 10 cm) electrical box
bracket. Remove 2 screws and cover
for electrical connections on the
motor. Disconnect wires to the
motor
6. Remove motor.
7. Install new motor and leave bolts
loose.
8. Rewire motor.
9. Insert the alignment bushing
(p/n HC138369) over the motor shaft
in the cabinet, with arrow pointing to
the 12 o’clock position.
NOTE: Alignment bushing must be inserted
to shoulder. See figure 9-5.
10. Move motor side to side and up and
down to allow for proper alignment.
11. Tighten 4 bolts evenly in a "X"
pattern. Tighten bolt on rear motor
support bracket.
