6.5 Options

The following options are provided by the DIL switches (8) shown in

Curtain, 1 = 40m, 0 = 35m

The figures (0) and (1) below refer to the appropriate setting for the
DIL switches.

DIL SWITCH 1.

The LED enable switch should be set to (0) for
Walk Testing. The LED can be disabled at the
end of testing if required after which it can be
controlled at the control panel via the TEST
input if appropriate. See section 7.3 for more
information on this facility.

DIL SWITCH 2.

As VEGA  DX/AM is often used in applications
of less than 18 metres, the range selection has
been factory preset to 12 metres (0). For
selection of full range, i.e. 18 metres, set DIL
switch 2 to (1).

Note that selection of mirror settings "A" and "B" on the Long Range
Model would mean that the mirror was facing upwards.

The mirror setting on the Volumetric, Long Range and Curtain models
may be moved beyond position "A" to achieve a further 2° change in the
vertical angle of the mirror.

The range and coverage shown is with the unit installed 2.3m above
the floor and with the lens set to position B. This may change if
different mounting heights or lens positions are used. Ensure the
detector’s field of view is not obscured. Always walk test the detector’s
coverage during installation.

6.4.2 Curtain Models

The Vega DX/AM Curtain model has a range of 40 metres and consists
of a single beam, whose upper edge (when the mirror is set to position
"D") will be parallel to the floor. Note that there is no sneak mirror fitted.
The Vega DX/AM Curtain mirror is factory set at position "D" and the
angle can be adjusted as follows :-

"A" +6°

"F" -4°

"B" +4°

"G" }

"C" +2°

"H" } Not adjustable

"D"   0°

"I"  }  Do Not Use

"E"  -2°

Note that alteration of the Curtain mirror to a setting other than position
"D" will mean that the upper edge of the curtain beam will no longer be
parallel to the floor.

ALL VEGA DX/AM VOLUMETRIC, LONG RANGE AND CURTAIN

MODELS SHOULD BE WALK TESTED AFTER INSTALLATION TO

VERIFY THE CORRECT COVERAGE.
