4.2 Function
The ADICOS GTL-3 produces the typical fire gas mix-
ture by buring of the GTL 3 smoouldering rod, which
is located in a safe combustion tube.
In connection with the SOLO battery pole, the fire
gases are directed to the detectors in a controlled
manner with aid of an electronic fan.
If the gas funnel of the GTL-3 is put on top of the
ADICOS GSME the air flow generated by the fan unit
drives the gases released inside the combustion
chamber to the sensors and triggers an alarm.
Before entering the installation to test detec-
tors, the smouldering rod is ignited and placed
inside the combustion chamber. Then the fan
unit is connected to the solo battery baton.
If the gas funnel of the GTL-3 is now pressed against
the front of an ADICOS GSME, the air flow generated
by the fan unit carries the fire gases released inside
the GTL-3 into the detector and triggers an alarm.
