2.4 d
esCriPtion
The head-end station consists of two parts:
The
"SAT -> IP" part
converts 16 DVB-S/S2/S2X modulated transponders (up
to 32 APSK) into up to 128 SPTS transport streams. In combination with spe-
cially programmed multiswitches up to 4 satellites can be received (multiple
satellite reception – option dCSS/Unicable II page 65).
The
"IP -> CT" part
converts up to 128 SPTS data streams (max. total input
data rate 900 Mbit/s) into 16 multiplexes and outputs them as 16 QAM- or 16
COFDM-modulated transponders.
The two parts are connected via an internal switch, to which two data inter-
faces are also connected (maximum total data rate 820 MBit/s).

The station is equipped with four SAT IF inputs and two LAN interfaces. It is
preset to receive the most popular ASTRA transponders. Different programming
is possible at any time.
The SPTS output data streams are output via an internal switch at both LAN
interfaces.
—> If you connect both data outputs to an external switch at the same
time, problems (looping) may occur (depending on the external
switch).
