
3. Radio Operation
Set the function switch to RADIO.
Aerials
The built-in telescopic aerial is for FM (UKW) reception.
Pull out the aerial and position it for optimum reception
quality.
There is a built-in ferrite rod antenna for AM reception (MW
und LW).
Turn the unit round until it is positioned for optimum recepti-
on quality.
Wave Bands
Use the wave band switch to select the desired wave band:
U/FM

108 MHz
MW
522 – 1620 kHz
LW
146 –
1
290 kHz
Intermediate frequencies: FM 10.7 MHz, AM 455 kHz.
Automatic Tuning
Select the wave band with the BAND button.
Searching is started by pressing the buttons TUNING DOWN
or TUNING/UP for longer than one second.
If the automatic search finds a receivable station it stops.
Press TUNING DOWN or TUNING/UP briefly for fine tuning if
necessary.
Stations with a weaker signal are skipped by the automatic
search and must be tuned in manually.
Manual Tuning
Select the wave band with the BAND button.
Tune in to a station by pressing the TUNING DOWN/UP but-
tons briefly.
Pressing the TUNING DOWN button decreases the frequency,
TUNING UP increases the frequency.
Press the appropriate button in single steps until the desired
frequency appears on the display.
The tuning steps are: for FM 50 kHz, for MW 9 kHz and for
LW 1 kHz.
Adjust the volume and sound to the desired levels.
Stereo Radio Receiver
If the operating mode switch is in the FM-STEREO position
and a stereo broadcast is being received, the CD display
shows STEREO and the unit switches to stereo playback.
If stereo reception is bad (noise interference), eg. if the stereo
signal is weak or there is other interference, switch to mono
by moving the FM MONO/STEREO switch to FM (MONO).
To turn off, move the function switch to CASS
