Erasing a Recording –
Protection against Accidental Erasure
Each time you make a recording on a cassette, the previous
recording on that part of the cassette is automatically erased.
Pre-recorded cassettes are protected against accidental era-
sure (recording over).
You can also protect your own recordings against accidental
erasure by removing the safety tabs from the openings at the
back of the cassette.
To protect side A (1) from erasure, for example, remove the
right-hand tab (2).
To protect side B, break off the left-hand tab.
If you wish to record onto a tape which has been protected in
this way, simply cover the opening with sticky tape (3).
