Memory position buttons

Select range: U I, U II or U III,
MW or LW.
Setting the station/RDS programme:
If the station/RDS programme tuned to is
already stored in the selected range on a pro-
gramme position button, for example, "U I",
the corresponding number is indicated on the
display.
Storing the set station/RDS programme:
Press the programme position button until the
signal sounds.
If "AF" is switched off, this setting is also
stored in memory.
Calling up stored stations/RDS programmes:
Press the programme position button briefly.
The contents of the memory position buttons
are preserved even if the car radio is dis-
connected from the operating voltage.
Alternative frequencies (AF)
The display indicates "AF"
You are receiving an RDS programme that
is being broadcast by several stations with
different frequencies.
Your car radio always selects automatically
the station with the alternative frequency
giving the best reception quality.
Switching off the AF function
When you are in an area with very poor recep-
tion conditions it may happen that short pau-
ses occur while the radio is searching for the
alternative frequencies. It is best in this case
to switch the AF function off.
Press the

TP/AF
button until the signal
sounds.
The "AF" function is switched off.
Reactivating the AF function
Press the
¡
TP/AF
button until the signal
sounds. This is only possible with stations
broadcasting with alternative frequencies.

To abort a traffic announcement
briefly press the

TP/AF
button.
If the TP station tuned to can no longer be
received, the radio will automatically tune to a
receivable TP station.

LRN ...
" appears in the display.
Programme types (PTY)
Prerequisite
The radio station tuned to must offer the "Pro-
gramme types" service PTY in the VHF range
(U I, U II or U III).
Programme types
The programme types a radio station offers
change according to the programme being
broadcast.

Traffic announcement standby (TP)
TP (TRAFFIC PROGRAM) =
Station broadcasting traffic announcments.
The radio is in traffic announcement standby
if the display indicates "TP".
Switching TP on/off:
Briefly press the
¡
TP/AF
button.
If the station tuned to is no TP station, the
radio starts automatically a search for the
next TP station.
Traffic announcements always begin with a
certain minimum volume:
It is possible to set this minimum volume
when you are in the expert control level.
During the announcement you can change the
volume using the
¢
¢
rotary knob.
You will hear only traffic announcements
if you set the
¢
¢
rotary knob to "zero".
Cassette or CD play is interrupted
during the traffic announcement.

the PTY search starts automatically and
moves to the next station offering the pro-
gramme type selected. The display shows

Insert a cassette into the cassette
compartment.
The display indicates "

if a cassette is already loaded:

" appears in the display.

Attention with automatic aerials!
Your radio switches on automatically when
loading a cassette.
This causes also the aerial to be extended!
Changing the cassette side
Slightly press the
t
and
s
buttons at
the same time. At the end of the tape, the cas-
sette side is changed automatically.

sounds. The Cr mode is activated and the dis-
play indicates "Cr".

Fast forward and rewind
Fast forward
Press the

button untilit locks in place.
After approx. 1.5 seconds, the display indi-
cates "
WIND
".
Stopping fast forward
Press the
t
button halfway in.
At the end of the tape, fast forward is auto-
matically stopped and the radio switches to
cassette play.
Fast rewind
Press the
t
button until it locks in place.
After approx. 1.5 seconds, the display indica-
tes "
WIND
".
Stopping fast rewind
Press the
s
button halfway in.
At the beginning of the tape, fast rewind is
automatically stopped and the radio switches
to cassette play.
Traffic announcement standby during
cassette play
Activating TP
Briefly press the

TP/AF
button.
"TP" appears in the display.
During a traffic announcement, the cassette
play is stopped until the announcement is
over. You will only hear the traffic flash.
Deactivating TP
Briefly press the
¡
TP/AF
button.
"TP" disappears from the display.
Ejecting the cassette
Press the
t
and
s
buttons at the same
time until the cassette is ejected.
Ending cassette play
for example, to switch to radio operation:
press the
¡
SOURCE
button.
The cassette remains in the compartment!

eject the cassette.
