Selecting the RADIO programme source
In cassette or CD mode:

VHF range
Briefly press the

stepping button:
U I, U II or U III.
AM range
Briefly press the

AM AS
stepping button:
the display indicates "
MW
" for Mediumwave
and "
lW
" for Longwave.
After selecting the desired range, you will hear
the station last tuned to in this range
(Last-station-memory).
Stereo reception (only with VHF)
You are receiving a stereo broadcast if the
display indicates "
ɳ
".
Manual switching to mono:
If reception conditions are poor, for example
in the mountains, the sound quality can be
improved by switching manually to mono
reception.
Briefly press the
¡
MONO/Cr
button.
The display indicates "MONO".
To switch back to stereo:
briefly press the
¡
MONO/Cr
button.
Setting RDS programmes with the
LEARN memory
With the push of a button
you can store up to 24 RDS programmes in
the LEARN memory!
You can call up the stored RDS programmes
one after the other.
Using the LEARN memory is of advantage if
you are in an unknown reception area and do
not wish to clear the stored stations.
Allocating the LEARN memory
Ranges: U I, U II or U III.
Press the
“
U III
LEARN
button until the signal
sounds:
"
LRN ...
" appears in the display and the radio
scans the VHF range.
RDS programmes (max. 24) being received in
the reception area are stored in memory.
After storing you will hear the RDS program-
me having the best reception quality.
If "TP" is selected, you will only hear RDS
programmes broadcasting traffic announce-
ments.

1. Select the range: U I, U II or U III

MW or LW.
2. Press the

signal sounds.
The display indicates "

frequency tuned to.
3. Tune to the desired frequency:
Press the

briefly (frequency steps) or a longer time
(fast frequency scroll). The display indi-
cates, for example, "
MAN 92.70
".
4. Terminate frequency tuning:
Press the

U III
LEARN
or

AM AS
or
¡
TP/AF
button.
Calling up the LEARN memory
Briefly press the

RDS SCAN
" appears in the display.
After that you will hear the next RDS pro-
gramme stored in the LEARN memory.

Autostore in the RDS range
Select the desired range: U I, U II or U III
Press the

LEARN
button until the 2nd signal
sounds.
The display indicates "
AS
" and the frequency
scrolls.
After that you hear the programme having the
best reception quality.
The 6 strongest stations of the selected range
are automatically stored in the programme
positions

Autostore in the AM range
Select the desired range: MW or LW
Press the

sounds.
The display indicates "

" and the frequency
scrolls.
After that you will hear the programme having
the best reception quality.
Setting stations/RDS programmes with
the search function
Select the desired range: U I, U II or U III.
The display indicates, for example,
"
FM 92.70
".
The search stops at the next station or RDS
programme.
Press the
<
-or
>
button until the signal
sounds.
The search function is set to maximum
sensitivity if
"DX" appears in the display.
– This occurs automatically after the first scan
of the entire frequecny range.
– Switching manually to "DX":
Press the

PTY
DX
button until the signal
sounds.
