Cleaning and maintenance
Remove the drill bit and wash it thoroughly
in water so that all the earth is removed.
Wipe the engine with a well-wrung cloth. Pay
particular attention when removing soil, etc.
from the underside of the engine section. Do
not expose the engine to water.
If necessary, spray the drill bit and engine
axle with an anti-rust agent.
Store the machine in a dry location out of the
reach of children.
Periodic engine maintenance
Air � lter
The air � lter must be cleaned regularly and at
least after each 25 hours of operation.
Remove the wing nut (3). Remove the air
� lter cover (2) and take out the � lter element.
Wash the � lter element in warm water with
a little detergent. Allow it to dry fully and
pour a little clean oil onto it before replacing
it. Wipe the inside of the � lter cover with a
damp cloth. If the � lter element is worn or
defective, it should be replaced.
Spark plug
Unscrew the spark plug cap (1) and screw out
the spark plug using the spark plug spanner
(18).
If the spark plug is very sooty, clean or
replace it. Always replace with the same type.
Use a feeler gauge to check the gap between
the spark plug electrodes regularly. It should
be 0.6 to 0.7 mm. Adjust if necessary.
Fuel � lter
Remove the tank � ller cap (6) from the fuel
tank (7), and extract the � lter with a piece of
bent wire or similar.
The fuel � lter prevents any impurities from
the fuel tank getting into the carburettor.
Rinse the fuel � lter thoroughly with petrol or
replace. Do not allow dust or dirt to get into
the tank when cleaning.
