Check that the saw chain can move freely
by pulling on it at the top of the blade while
wearing gloves.
It is important for optimum performance of
the pruning saw and to maximise the service
life of the saw chain that it is tightened
correctly.
If you have fi tted a brand new saw chain,
you should allow the pruning saw to run
freely for 2-3 minutes and then check the saw
chain’s tension.
Use
Take hold of the front handle (10) with your
left hand and the rear handle (11) with your
right hand.
First press the safety button (8) and then
press the on/o
ff button (9).
Note ! The sa f ety button can be released once
the p runing saw is running .
Begin sawing when the p runing saw has
reached f ull s p eed .
Release the on/o ff button immediately i f the
saw chain gets stuck in the wood .
I f the on/o ff button is released , the p runing
saw will sto p.

Note ! The saw chain may ex p and when hot .
Check regularly to see i f the saw chain needs
tightening , to avoid it coming o ff the blade . I f
the chain is tightened whilst it is hot , it must
be loosened again when cool so that it does
not become too tight
.
The saw chain can be tightened and
loosened by turning the chain tensioner
knob (6) towards the “+” or “-” symbol
.
Pruning
A lways use the underside o f the blade to saw .
Place the bark su pp ort (d) on the p runing
saw against the branch to be cut and saw
through the branch by ti
pp ing the rear o f the
p runing saw u p wards using the bark su pp ort
as the centre o f rotation .
A llow the saw chain to work through without
p ressing the p runing saw hard against the
wood .
A s the blade gradually works through the
branch , tilt the p rotective shield u p to
continue to p rotect yoursel f against the saw
chain .
