Setting Depth of Cut
The depth of cut on a jointer is the amount of mate-
rial removed from the bottom of the workpiece as
it passes over the cutterhead.
The depth of cut is set by adjusting the height of
the infeed table relative to the cutterhead inserts
at TDC (top dead center).
Depth-of-Cut Scale
The depth of cut can be referenced directly from
the depth scale located on the front of the jointer
(see
Figures 31–32).
Note: The depth scale can be calibrated or
"zeroed" if it is not correct. Refer to
Calibrating
Depth Scale on Page 40 for more information.

Adjusting Infeed Table Height
To adjust the infeed table height, loosen the infeed
table lock, adjust the infeed table handwheel,
then tighten the lock to secure the setting (see
Figure 30. Infeed table controls.
