Software Control Settings
Software Control Settings
Subwoofer Tab: Here you have the choice of 3 basic settings to configure the LS1:
1. No sub - the basic setting for the two-way playback.
2. Grimm sub - the setting for the three-way playback with the optional Grimm Audio
subwoofers. Three of the listed parameters can now be changed for final tweaks.
3. Non-Grimm sub - this setting allows to use stereo subs from a different manufacturer and
leave all crossover, phase and level settings on the sub itself in a linear position, but control
those in the LS1 dsp via the remote software instead.
You can change the values by clicking the little up/down arrows, or by entering numerical values
directly into the fields. The possible settings are:
Gain - controls the sub output level in dB. In certain acoustics you might find best performance
with a little higher or lower gain setting of the sub woofer. Remember the crossover is at 70 Hz,
so this gain control works like a low shelf eq. Usually ‚0‘ is correct.
Delay - The optimum is dependent on your acoustics, but ‚0‘ would normally be good. To find the
optimum setting, switch between ‚no sub‘ and ‚Grimm sub‘ and play with the delay setting until
the ‚Grimm sub‘ selection offers at least the same amount of ‚punch‘ as the ‚no sub‘ setting.
Crossover frequency - controls the crossover frequency where the sub takes over from the
mid-driver.
Low cut frequency - controls the deepest corner frequency for the whole system. 20 Hz is the
default position, a slight correction to a higher frequency yields a slight increase in possible
playback level.
Polarity - switches the polarity of the subwoofer output signal.
Last is the Remote Tab, here you can set the brightness of the hardware remote display. Addi-
tionally you can choose whether pressing the big volume dial shall activate the MUTE or the DIM
function and if the display shall show the volume, the input source or nothing at all by default.
