The LS1 Remote Software ist the centerpiece of all control settings for the LS1. Please go to
www.grimmshop.com and make sure you have downloaded and installed the latest version of the
software onto your mac or pc.
If you don´t have your hardware remote connected you can set the volume and the input sour-
ce here in the software. But there‘s much more. Let ́s have a look at the other functions of the
remote software one by one, starting at the top:
1. Pushing these buttons selects between the different input sources, if there´s no digital connec-
tion established, the input source defaults to analog.
2. Here the current volume setting is displayed numerically.
3. The balance fader moves the stereo image to the left or right. If there is an offset dialed in,
the letters „L“ or „R“ start to glow in a light brown color. If you doubleclick on the fader it will
return to the default middle position, with no balance offset. So if you´re unsure whether you
accidently adjusted the balance or not, simply pull the fader to one side and doubleclick it, so it
snaps right into the middle position again.
4. The swap button swaps the left and right speaker channels. If you want to permanently swap
those, there is a setting in preferences under the LS1 tab instead.
5. The offset dial allows for different level offsets for each selected source individually, which
makes it easy to „calibrate“ your different input sources to one common, matching volume
setting.
6. This is the volume dial. Use this to dial in your preferred listening levels.
Don´t be afraid of a dsp-based digital volume control, in the LS1 it is well thought out and part
of the complete playback system, there is no loss of resolution or audiophile quality in the signal
whatsoever!
7. The two buttons „Ref 1“ and „Ref 2“ make it possible to set two different reference levels to
the choosen volume position. Those reference levels can be set or reset in the „help“ menu of
the remote software. If you are unsure whether you have accidently adjusted these, simply reset
them from the help menu to 0dB. (set to 0dB reference 1; set to 0dB reference 2)
