Initial Setup
These items may not be dealer-installed or dealer
pre-set unless prior arrangements have been made.
Seed Monitor Console Installation (Option)
The optional seed monitor system includes a console
that must be mounted in the tractor cab. As supplied by
DICKEY-john
®
, the kit includes a U-bracket and
hardware.
Transport and Field Safety Risk:
Mount the console so that it is easy to monitor during planting,
but des not interfere with safe operation of the tractor in the
field or on public roads.
You or your dealer must provide the mounting holes for
the screws. Your dealer may have alternate suction cup
or clamping brackets available if you prefer to avoid
drilling holes.
Refer to the included DICKEY-john
®
manual for harness
connections.
Speed Sensor Setup (Option)
The seed monitor requires a speed input. Because the
tractor may already have a compatible speed sensor, the
monitor option does not include one. Choices (page 109)
include:
•
Y-cable to existing sensor.
•
New radar unit mounted on drill.
Perform a speed calibration after hookup.
•
New radar unit mounted in tractor.
This may also require a Y-cable for sharing the
sensor output with other tractor systems, and/or an
extension cable, depending on mounting location.
Perform a speed calibration after hookup.
•
Magnetic pickup sensor on drill.
Magnetic Sensor Gap
If a magnetic sensor is selected, install it on the left
gauge wheel assembly per the included instructions. Set,
and periodically re-check the gap, as shown at right.
