CONTROLS AND FEATURES
Refer to the figure on the inside front cover for controls
and features locations.

engine or operating the unit.
Safety Interlock System
The safety interlock system must stop all drive and
attachment movement when:
•
parking brake is engaged
•
operator leaves the operator platform
Unit controls will not work until the system is reset with
the hydraulic activator switch.

controls that are locked out by the
safety interlock system.

controls:
1. Step on operator platform.
2. Disengage parking brake.
3. Press hydraulic activator switch.

Pull lever back to engage (2).
Push lever forward to disengage (1).

to engage brake. Unit may need to be
inched forward or backward to fully lock
parking brake.
Ignition Switch-Gasoline Models
The ignition switch has a
removable key that is
used to start and stop the
engine. There are three
key positions:
OFF - Engine shut off
RUN - Engine running
START - Cranks engine.
Key returns to RUN when
released.
Choke-Gasoline Models
When starting engine, close choke by pulling
the control lever out. When the engine starts,
regulate choke as the engine heats up by
pushing the control lever progressively inward
to the “OFF” position. A warm engine should
require little or no choking.
Throttle-Gasoline Models
The throttle controls the engine speed. Operate the unit
with the throttle control in the “FAST” position for best
performance.
Move the throttle control up to increase engine speed
or down to decrease the engine speed.
Ignition Switch-Diesel Models
The ignition switch has a removable key that is used to
start and stop the engine. There are four positions:
OFF - Engine shut off
RUN - Engine running
THERMO START- Pre-heats engine for cold
weather starting. Hold ignition switch in this
position for 7 seconds before cranking engine.
START - Cranks engine. Key returns to RUN when
released.
