Connection 3
You can use this connection if you have a converter with your cable system.
You can:
View any basic (non-scrambled) or premium (scrambled) channels which you subscribe to.
Record and view any basic channel which you subscribe to. You cannot record premium (scrambled) channels with
this connection.
Record any basic channels while viewing any other basic or premium channels which you subscribe to.
Your Dual-Deck VCR can be turned off during normal TV viewing.
To view a basic or premium channel, follow these instructions.
①
Turn on your TV and converter. Turn the Dual-Deck VCR off or set the
TV/VCR
selector to TV.
②
Set the TV to channel 2, 3 or 4, whichever is used by your cable system.
③
On the converter, select the channel to view.
To record and view a basic channel, follow these instructions.
①
Turn on your TV, Dual-Deck VCR, and converter.
②
Set the TV to channel 2, 3 or 4, whichever is used by your cable system.
③
Set the
TV/VCR
selector to TV.
④
On both the Dual-Deck VCR and the converter, select the channel to view and record. Start the recording (page 15).
To record a basic channel while viewing any other basic or premium channel, follow
these instructions.

Turn on your TV, Dual-Deck VCR, and converter.
②
Set the TV to channel 2, 3 or 4, whichever is used by your cable system.
③
Set the Dual-Deck VCR to the channel to record. Start the recording (page 15).
④
Set the
TV/VCR
selector to TV.

On the converter, select the channel to view.
