The second, third and fourth row with three passenger
seats have exposed metal lower anchors located in
the crease between the seatback and the seat cushion.
There are two top tether anchors in the second, third and
fourth rows. To install a child restraint in the rear driver
side seating positions, use anchor point (A). To install
a child restraint in the rear passenger side seating
positions, use anchor point (B). To install a child restraint
in the rear center seating positions, use anchor point (B).
Never install two top tethers using the same top
tether anchor.
There is a top tether anchor for the front passenger
position with a front passenger seat. The anchor
is located at the rear of the seat cushion on the
right front passenger’s seat.
Do not secure a child restraint in a position without a
top tether anchor if a national or local law requires that
the top tether be attached, or if the instructions that
come with the child restraint say that the top tether
must be attached.
Accident statistics show that children are safer if they
are restrained in the rear rather than the front seat.
See Where to Put the Restraint on page 1-38 for
additional information.
