3.4 PA Module Interconnection
3.4.1 PA Module Dc, Signal, and Control Wiring
All PA module dc voltages, monitoring signals, and control signals are routed through the
metering and combiner boards to or from the various PA module circuit boards. The
combiner board to metering board connection is achieved through a D-sub 25 connector.
Refer to Table 3-2, for the PA metering board to combiner board connector pin-out.
The metering board signals are routed from the combiner board to the various PA circuit
boards by copper jumper straps which are soldered between the boards. The RF signals also
travel between the various PA module circuit boards through copper jumper straps.
Figure 3-3 shows the locations of the copper jumper straps in the PA module and the names
of the signals they carry.
3.4.1.1
The Metering Board Location
The metering board is mounted on the outside of the rear panel of the PA module. J1, a
D-sub 25 connector on the metering board provides the interface between the metering
board and the PA module. J8 on the PA module combiner board is the mating connector for
this interface.
