WARNINGS:
•
Hot steam will be ejected. KEEP HANDS AND FACE AWAY FROM VALVES.
•
NEVER FORCE THE LID OPEN. The lid will open easily once the pressure
is released.
•
When removing the lid, use oven mitts and use the lid as a shield to
block the hot steam.
•DO NOT use without the cooking pot in place.
•DO NOT cover the valves with anything. An explosion may occur!
•DO NOT fill the pressure cooker more than 1/2 full with food or 2/3 full
with liquid. When cooking foods that expand during cooking, DO NOT
fill the unit over 1/2 full.
•DO NOT use this appliance for canning.
PRESSURE COOKING:
1. Position the cooking pot in the base at a slight diagonal. Swivel the pot so
the tabs are under the clips.
2. Place food in the pot per your recipe (use rack, as needed).
Note:
When cooking most foods under pressure, 11/2 cups (12 oz.) of
liquid should be added.
3. Ensure the rubber gasket sits properly inside the lid. If the gasket is
not aligned, pressure will not build.
4. Place the lid on the base and slide the lock to the left to lock the lid in
place.
5. Turn the pressure regulating valve to PRESSURE.
6. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet. The display will show --:--.
7. Press SETTING PRESSURE. 15 psi will default (Low 2.5 psi, Med 7.5 psi,
High 15 psi). Press SETTING PRESSURE to save the setting.
8. After the pressure is set, the cooking time will default to 10 minutes on
the display. Press “+” or “-” to set the desired cooking time.
