MAINTENANCE
4.1 Ordinary maintenance
• Clean the podoscope at least once a week, always after having
unplugged it. Use clean clothes, slightly moistened with water
and detergent for glasses. WARNING: never use alcohol or solvents
for this purpose.
• The frequency of the checks on internal wiring may vary according
to external conditions (i.e. presence of dust) and repeated usage.
• As a general rule, we recommend a sight inspection every six months
or at least within one year after the purchase of the podoscope,
to ascertain whether there is no wear and tear in the cable or in the electric
connections.
• If you have to replace the lamp, check that the latter is of the same kind
and class as the original.
Disconnect the cable from the electric socket; put onto the work table
a suitable protection (fabric or anything else) where you will lie the
methacrylate side of the podoscope. Now the device foot will be upwards.
With a cross-head screwdriver unscrew the four screws at the top of the
rectangular plastic, covering the fluorescent lamp housing.
Raise the rectangular plastic supporting the reactor connected to
the fluorescent lamp, and put it down by turning it towards the podoscope
inner basis. Before going on, observe carefully how the lamp which has
to be replaced, is assembled. With small nippers cut the fastening strip
holding the lamp to the power supply reactor’s connector. Take out the
lamp from the power supply reactor’s connector. Prepare the new lamp
by threading the new fastening strip through it. Take the new lamp near
the reactor’ socket and let the thinnest strip cable thread through
the reactor’s connector.
Press the lamp into the reactor’ socket; close by locking the new holding
strip which will hold the lamp to the reactor’s connector; than snip off
the excess strip. Place again the assembled components into
the podoscope lodgement and tighten down the 4 screws at the top
of the rectangle. Now the podoscope is ready to work again.
• If you have to replace one of the fuses, open the fuse holder placed
in the position indicated in the picture on page 21. Then get out the blown
fuse with a suitable instrument and replace it with a T 0,5 A – 5x20 250V
fuse.
• In the case of troubles or needs to replace spare parts, always contact
the producer.
Warning:
all maintenance should be done only after disconnecting
the device from the electrical mains.
