ROTATING THE LIQUID END
It is possible to rotate the eight-channel liquid
end for comfort of operation. To do this, first
slacken the connecting nut (
Fig. 1G
) ¼ turn.
Rotate the liquid end to the position you want.
Re-tighten the connecting nut.
ACIDS AND CORROSIVE LIQUIDS
Pipetting strong acids or corrosive solutions
with Pipetman 8X200 is not recommended.
Extensive contact with corrosive fumes may
corrode the pistons, result in premature seal
wear, and may require premature replacement
of the nozzle assemblies (
Fig. 2D
).
TIP EJECTOR
Do not take the eject mechanism apart (
Fig. 1I
).
If disassembled, reassembly will be impossible.
AFTER USE
Pipetman 8X200 should be placed on the
Gilson Carrousel (reference F144301) when
not in use. Do not place the instrument on its
side with sample liquid in the tips.
Pipetman 8X200 is not autoclavable, nor
should it be exposed to UV light.
6. PERFORMANCE CHECKING
LEAK CONTROL
1) Fit eight D200 tips from the Tipack. Use a
back-and-forth rocking motion to ensure that
the tips are securely attached
2) Set the volumeter to 200 and aspirate 200 µl
of water.
3) Hold the 8X200 vertical and observe the tip
ends for 15 seconds. If you observe a drop
of water at the end of the tip, or a leak, go to
section 7. If no leak is observed, go to the
second stage of this procedure.
