Various volume settings for
Pipetman 8X200 are shown
opposite:
The volume is set by turning either the adjustment
screw (
Fig. 1F
) or the adjustment knob (
Fig. 2A
2
).
When wearing gloves, you may find it easier to use
the adjustment knob to set the volume. To obtain
maximum accuracy when changing the volumeter
setting, follow these recommendations:
• When decreasing the volume setting, turn the
adjustment ring slowly to reach the required
setting, making sure you don’t overshoot the
mark.
• When increasing the volume setting, turn the
adjustment ring until you are 1/3 of a turn
above the required setting. Then turn the
adjustment ring slowly to decrease the vol-
ume setting to the required value, making
sure you don’t overshoot the mark.
3. OPERATION
Mount new disposable tips on all eight pipette
nozzles (
Fig. 1I
) by pressing down on the
Gilson Tipack

side-to-side rocking motion to ensure that the
tips are securely mounted. Press firmly to
ensure a positive airtight seal. Set the desired
volume using the adjusting screw.
