Safety notices
4.3 Electrical risks
Electric shock due to live window unit parts
Note that if an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is used, the window unit will still be supplied with voltage
despite the fact that the power supply is disconnected.
X
Before working on the electrical system, disconnect the power supply (mains and rechargeable battery),
secure against reconnection and check isolation from the power supply.
4.4 Mechanical risks
Risk of injury and death
There is a danger of impact, pinching and clamping due to the forces which occur at windows operated by elec-
tric motor.
Reaching into the movement range of the window unit during operation can lead to injuries.
There is an injury risk through manual opening of the leaf to turn position.
X
If necessary, apply measures for authorised use of the turn position (see chapter 5.6 “Blocking manual opening
Special measures to protect hazardous spots
Where installation of the leaf or the hazardous spots are below 2.5 m above the access level:
The type of measures required depends on the respective installation situation and use of the respective rooms.
X
Select and implement special measures to protect hazardous spots on the basis of the risk assessment.
X
Closing process is signalled by LEDs (flashing) (integrated in the drive).
à
Can be used in rooms used regularly by people who have been instructed in the technology and can esti-
mate the risks (e.g. residential rooms etc.)
X
Set the closing speed on the main closing edge to max. 15 mm/s (corresponds to factory setting) and limit the
opening width of the main closing edge to <200 mm (by the max. stroke of the fitting (180 mm)).
If the preset closing speed is changed to over 15 mm/s, the protection class of the drive changes.
X
In order to continue to comply with the preset protection class, implement any required additional safety
measures (e.g. dead man's control, protection with IQ-Box-Safety in connection with sensors, etc.)
X
Set parameters for control keys to the mode of operation switching operation with off preset (dead man's
operation).
à
Can be used in rooms used regularly by people in special need of protection who have not been instructed
about safe use (e.g.hospitals, schools etc.)
X
Secure hazardous spots by sensors.
à
Can be used in rooms used regularly by people in special need of protection, children or people with lim-
ited ability to judge who have not been instructed about safe use or are without supervision (e.g. nursery
schools etc.)
