Combustion gases released from fireplaces!
• Please pay attention to statutory require-
ments and norms when planning the instal-
lation in combination with a fireplace.
• Have the planned installation checked
and approved by the competent chimney
sweep.
• The use of ventilation systems can lead
to negative pressure. Account needs to
be taken of this when planning an instal-
lation in combination with a fireplace
(See DIN 1946-6 Annex 3). You should
also speak with the competent chimney
sweep to check whether any technical
measures are needed and how these
are to be implemented.
INFORMATION
To ensure the danger-free use of the ventila-
tion system in combination with a fireplace,
we recommend the installation of a certified
pressure monitoring system.
2 Function
The device can be used for free-running or
mechanical ventilation. There are several
factors needing to be taken into account
during the planning phase to determine the
number of devices needed.
2.1 Description of the system
The product is made up of an inside cover
with integrated filter holder, soundproofing
elements, a wind pressure protection device
with pre-filter and an outside cover. Depend-
ent on the version, the outside cover can be

are always installed in an outside wall. The
device is inserted into an mounting tube
which is firmly bonded with the wall.
2.2 Use
To guarantee the fault-free and safe use of
the system, it is vital to ensure appropriate
transport and storage, professional plan-
ning and installation, as well as proper oper-
ation and maintenance.
Before starting installation work, a plan
should be made, detailing both the number
and positioning of the ALDs and the ventila-
tion principle.
During planning, installation and operation,
all relevant requirements, building and fire
protection regulations and accident preven-
tion regulations are to be complied with.

be discussed with an expert or the skilled
installation company.
