Optima 310
5. Function
5.1 Control system Optima 310
A Combi device is used to heat the service water and the
diffusion air to cover the house’s ventilation requirements
and partial ground heating
1: Service water heating
The service water temperature is controlled by sensor
T8, which is fitted in the bottom of the container. When
heating of the service water is required, the compressor
starts and magnetic valves MA 3 and MA 6 open and the
service water is heated to the configured service water
temperature.
2: Room heating
Magnetic valves MA 2 and MA 5 are activated for room
warming. The room temperature is controlled by the
room sensor T2, which is fitted in the control panel. If
this temperature has been configured to e.g. 21°C, the
compressor will start when the room temperature falls to
20.6°C. The compressor will stop when it has increased
the room temperature to 21.4°C. If the compressor
cannot maintain the room temperature, the motor-
operated valve (devices with water after-heat surface)
will begin to regulate (PI regulation) when the room
temperature has fallen to 20°C. For devices with electric
after-heat surface, the first level will engage when the
room temperature has fallen to 20°C. When the room
temperature again reaches 20°C, the electric heat
level will disengage. Devices with an electrical pre-heat
surface will regulate in the same way as an electrical
after-heat surface.
3: No heat requirement
When there is no heat requirement for either service
water heating or room warming, the compressor stops,
but the fans continue to run and the heat in the extraction
air is recycled in the counter current heat exchanger and
is transferred to the diffusion air.
4: Defrosting
The device begins defrosting when the temperature
difference between the temperature before the cooling
surface and the cooling surface becomes too big, which
occurs when ice forms on the cooling surface.
The magnetic valve MA 4 opens, the air intake fan and
the electric heat surface stops until the ice is melted and
the cooling surface has reached a temperature of about
5°C, after which the magnetic valve closes again and the
air intake fan and the electric heat surfaces start again.
5.2 Extra capacity
Electric cartridge:
If there is a greater requirement for heat than the Combi
can supply, the electric cartridge can be configured to ON
in the main menu with the shortcut key. When the electric
cartridge is set to ON, sensor T7, which is fitted at the
centre of the container, will heat the upper half of the hot
water container to the configured temperature.
5.3 Operating reliability
High pressure switch:
In order to protect the compressor from running more
than intended, a high pressure switch is built in that will
disconnect when the pressure becomes too great. The
red reset button on the pressure switch is activated in the
cabinet at the condensation outlet hose when the cause
of the error has been found.
Safety thermostat:
Located at the centre of the tank.
(Remember to disconnect the power to the machine
before performing an intervention). Only authorised
personnel should perform repairs.)
Overriding of the diffusion fan:
If the diffusion temperature exceeds 45°C, the diffusion
fan’s speed will increase in order to maintain the diffusion
temperature at 45°C
