A bowed workpiece must be positioned
against the fence and secured with
a hold-down clamp as shown before
cutting. Do not position workpiece
incorrectly or try to cut the workpiece
without the support of the fence. This will
cause the blade to bind and could result
in personal injury.
CUTTING GROOVES

WARNING
DO NOT USE A DADO BLADE, use
only the standard saw blade for this
operation.
1. Mark lines identifying the width
and depth of the desired cut on
the workpiece and position on the
table so the inside tip of the blade is
positioned on the line. Use a hold-
down clamp to secure the workpiece.
2. Lower the cutting head so the tip of
the blade touches the top surface
workpiece at the marked line.
3. While holding the upper arm in
position, turn the stop knob (1) until
it touches the stop plate (2). (SEE
“SETTING CUTTING DEPTH” on
page 28).
4. Cut two parallel grooves as shown.
