2.6 CUSTOMER SMART CARD READER failure
2.6.1 Symptoms

Absence of reaction of the Terminal after the card has been introduced into the
reader.

Occurrence of an error message on the display after reading card.
2.6.2 Procedure

1. Checklist :

Make sure that the CARD_READER slot is not blocked by any
foreign body.
¾
Check the elastomeric pads XJ1-XJ2 of the PCB_KEYBOARD and
CPU_BOARD (dust, liquid, etc…), clean them if need, and if
possible.
If damaged (corrosion for instance …. layer of solder), change the
PCB_KEYBOARD or/and CPU_BOARD.

2. Behaviour to apply in case no issue detected in step 1 :

First, change the PCB_KEYBOARD by a new one.

If the failure is still present, change the CPU_BOARD.
